Any poster experts with info on this cool poster? The poster says "ANTONIO" in large letters, underneath in faint stylized letters "AT ART CENTER". Here's what I found: Antonio Lopez gave workshops at the Art Center College of Design (Pasadena CA) ... found vids on vimeo and youtube of him giving instruction and demonstration with students, models etc in 1983 and 1985. I also found reference of the original art depicted (two cheek to cheek men in black hats and white suits) in Lopez' estate. The reference was on VisualAIDS website. I have not taken the poster out of the frame ... no publisher or date shows ... maybe underneath the frame rim or on the back of the poster? Would love to know more about the poster: who produced it, how many were made, where distributed (or just given to students?), etc. I'm hesitant to take the poster & frame apart! I'm sure other copies exist out there but can't find reference of any or sales records etc. What do you know??? THANKS!

Quite effective portrayal, it looks like a mirror image of the same man, but not quite, with some details that differ, but not the faces, wonder what he meant to convey?

Thanks for your comment truthordare. Antonio & his collaborator Juan Ramos were MAJOR for sure & still influence fashion design today. Lagerfeld their friend ... ah that cologne! Everything late 70s & early 80s (I was there LOL ... Antonio a bit my senior though). I hope to find out more about this work and its use re: the poster. I think the poster MAY be rare(?). VisualAID had the original work from Lopez' listed as "Untitled".

      JoeyC,
my mother and I were great fans of Vogue, and anything artistic, I even took a course in fashion design. I loved it.
We also knew all the French designers of the 1950s to 1980s, and their work.

I think what you have is very special, worth researching and showing. Thank you for posting on CW.

Thanks for your feedback and glad you appreciated my post. There was an exhibition of "Antonio" work recently, in Phoenix I believe. Wish I could've seen it. Found out about it after the fact. Please let me know if you happen on any further info on how this poster was used in relation to his workshops, who printed them, where etc. THANKS!!!!!!

Thanks 'Looker' for posting VisialAids link; yes that's the site which has an image of the original artwork. I am adding an image of another illustration of his I just found WHICH HAS STARK SIMILARITIES TO MY ANTONIO POSTER.
      Have a look. Thanks!

Yes very nice Joey C...same style and the post I added has Mick Jagger and Tina Turner has the same style and is a limited edition 15/18. Yours might be a limited edition as well no idea . I just like the bold style and statement they have about them, there just lovely.

So looking @ the picture on the Visual Aids link it shows there were 18 made ,if you look below that one is 15/18

There are 18 works of Lopez shown like a slideshow on VisualAIDS.org ... this work is the 16th of 18 works shown. The image shown is the ORIGINAL done in a watercolor and pencil ("Untitled") ... that image provided courtesy of the Estate of Antonio Lopez and Juan Ramos. So unfortunately this doesn't give us any clues about subsequent prints made from the original work or posters made to somehow go along with his workshops at the Art Center. There is an archival listing I ran across which cites Antonio "signing posters at his workshop" but I haven't seen those photographs(s) of him signing posters. Perhaps there's a photograph showing him signing one of THESE posters!
