I picked up this Wedgwood Jasperware jar online. It has no lid, but I really like the floral design. It is marked WEDGWOOD, and has the initials HMW. The date letter is the last of the 3 letters, and I've looked up W and that makes this jar 1868. I'm not sure what the 4'4x44 mark is but I think it may be related to size as the measurement across the top is 4.4". The inside of the jar is glazed. It's a shame there is no lid. I've been trying to find one similar but so far failed, as I would like to know what the lid should look like. None of my other jars lids fit this jar.
Beautiful new addition to your fantastic collection of Wedgwood jasperware jars, it has a very lovely floral design
About the missing lid: How about having a wood turner make a fitting lid and paint it either light blue or white ? I once solved a missing-lid-problem in that way and nobody noticed the little trick !
Beautiful looks like cameos :)
