The booklet is from a well known author and appraiser in USA during the 1980s, a much more difficult enterprise than it is now with the internet information at hand. He published about 12 of these specialized topics, I don't think this was his best one, the page are not paper but board, about 9 with a nice selection of very decorative glass baskets. He claims they are American, but it is impossible to find out by which late 19th Victorian era producer.

The amusing part is that most of them were European and Bohemian, early Edwardian at the most, 1901-1920 or so. I am not showing the content, only the intro, because it is still worth having for those Bohemian decorative glass basket collectors. Another statement by the author is an explanation of the 'end of day' term used by many to describe a multi colored spatter type of finished glass, and the fact that he finds it the worst kind of furnace applied glass product.... just happens to be one of my favorite in the Ruckl Tango styles.

The small basket is a molded and crimped pretty celery green with black glass handle and rim. About 6 inches wide, with a faded acid Czechoslovakia mark on the edge of the base, in a straigh line.

      Thank you Ms.CrystalShip.
I call it 'having the eye', my mother had it, great taste, she enjoyed beautiful things and was wonderful at displaying them, I learned a lot from her. I think several members of CW have it too.
That's why it can be such a pleasure to browse here, and I say wow a lot. LOL.
