This vase is 6.5" high x 4.5" wide. A recent ebay find from a seller who knew it is good glass, but did not know the maker, etc. Not a steal, but much less than these normally go for. Pretty sure I have identified this correctly, but welcome input from those who really know what they are doing. I did not see one of these on CW and only one other piece by Mr. Jezek posted.
I found surprisingly little information about Mr. Jezek so adding a bit here:
Pavel Jezek was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1938. He died at Malá Skála, Czech Republic, in 1999. He was a sculptor and glass designer with excellent sense of internal and external behavior of glass material. He attended the high school of applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod during the period 1953 - 1957. Subsequently he entered in practice, fully rapt in the material itself. In 1967 he graduated from UPŠ Prague, the studio of professor St. Libenský and one year later he joined the high school of applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod as a professor and finally in 1990 became its director. Several well known glass designers studied under Jezek.
