Forgive my ignorance "EV"? (I'm guessing economic value?)
I have had this one for a long time & knew it wasn't worth much financially, especially with the rim chip & it's size (maybe 10cm tall) but it's just so beautiful to look closely at how the enamels have been applied (where brushstrokes overlap creating a darker colour to create shadow for the folds in gowns) & how carefully the gilding has been painted between the green enamel on the border.
I have another, larger one around the same age but in a pattern of random birds, butterflies, flowers etc, also baluster form but with gilt Fu dog neck details as well as salamanders. Sadly it too has damage to the rim but I still love it.
I'll post a picture of it now, any information would be appreciated.

      Ahhhhhh!
Good to know, always useful to be "Down with the lingo". lol
Out of interest, what would an EV on this be?
I know from a decorative standpoint with my clients who buy mainly for aesthetic value, character and to add a bit of age to an interior etc I could probably get AUD$75-ish (even with rim chip)but I'm interested in it's actual value as an antique/piece of history.

That was all I needed to know, you have my sincere gratitude.
You see, 90% of the clients I get through my retail space are more interested in how an item looks relative to the rest of their decor or whether the colours are too bright etc than they are with the technique, craftsmanship, true age, provenance or (if I'm being brutally honest) even quality.
I am 100% fine selling "pretty"/decorative items to these people, I have enough knowledge in the fields of Interior Design & Decoration and Visual Merchandising to adequately advise them from that perspective however I would not assume to know even nearly enough to sell the very same items for their historic or true artistic merits.... I simply do not know enough.
That's kinda why I'm here, to learn, grow and maybe one day be able to educate my clientele.
      Many thanks, once again.
