I bought a large old none working radio cabinet at an antique store a few years ago with the intention of converting it to a mini bar. This little RCA Victor record player was inside that cabinet. It has RCA cables attached so you can plug it into your radio! Love it! It was a wonder for it's time because it allowed the used to stack up to 10 45 RPM records at once for continuous playback. I've never used it so not sure if it actually works but it looks great on the shelf. :o)
You've got to hook it up! Does it have a stylus? Would it use a diamond or pin type, I wonder. The ad says, "No surface noise." I bet! Great item!
thats a really neat player, what i like about it is the stacking ability ,RCA really made some nice little record players .the thing i'm concerned about though is that the needle arm might be too heavy, do you see that being a problem with yours?
I've never actually used it but did notice that the arm doesn't stay in a resting position. There really isn't any sort of hook or holder for it to rest on. Someday i plan to hook it up and try it out but for now I just like it diplayed in my music room.
I recently bought the 45J on e-bay. It needs to be restored. I've never done any restoring before. How much would it actually cost to restore one of these beauties? My mother had one as a kid in the 50's and I always wanted one.
My mother had one we used to play Beatles records on. Forty five records sold for under a buck.
