Takes a special can of butane with the right nozzle. I used to collect the VuTane lighters. Finally gave my entire collection to my son. VuTanes and Zippos.

You should be able to get a can of butane with 4 or 5 different nozzles and fill it.

Okay thank you for the info. I tried putting butane but it seems to escape as soon as I put it in. Any kind of specific brand?

Sounds like the wrong size nozzle. Here in Florida they sell butane with the nozzle selection and I think it is either Scripto or Remington. Smoke shops sell it, flea markets and even Walmart used to carry it in their smoking section. I don't buy it anymore since I stopped collecting lighters a couple years ago.
