This 4" pot seems to be a bit unusual. The top is either hand blown or perhaps mould blown with the knob added later as you can see where the glass has been worked. It has a cut glass lid and the base also appears to have been worked and has a cut glass star. I don't think they are a "marriage" as the glass colour is the same under natural and UV light. Probably late Victorian, maker unknown and it cost me £1!
I have a perfume bottle and a dresser jar very close to yours. Mine has a cylindrical top. After seeing your post, I checked if mine glows, too, but it doesn't. Mine is most likely from the fifties. I got mine in Germany. I will post it when I get a chance.
Thanks freiheit, I don't like to ask but did you use an Ultra Violet light on your pieces?
I bought a black light bulb. I am not sure how good they are. Some glass doesn't glow even though I would think that it should, and some other glass glows even though I don't think it should. I guess I have to invest in a better light to get more reliable results :)
freiheit, a black light bulb should be ok but I use a 21 LED UV torch which can be bought online very cheaply and will pick out uranium glass from about 20ft away! It needs to be used with care though. I'm also often surprised by pieces that I think are not uranium glass but are, and vice versa.
Thanks for your tip. I will check it out. I am in Canada and sometimes postage, taxes and duties make it really expensive to order online.
