colcha
(1 item)
Here are four bedspreads (colchas) made by the Otomi indians in the Toluca valley outside of Mexico City. They are hand embroidered in wool on a hand-woven wool background made in two pieces sewn down the middle. They all date to the 1940s-1960s. The third one is from the 1971 book, "The Ephemeral and Eternal in Mexican Folk Art". A similar one is posted in Collectors Weekly Show and Tell by PCMadison191. jtomax333@gmail.com.
