I just posted this because I just found it in the attic of the estate of a 100 year old woman who collected for years. When found it was unfortunately in 3 pieces and I have glued it back together because I could not stand to look at it in pieces. The previous owners daughter said she could remember her mother having it since her first recollections. There are no markings on it anywhere to indicate who made it and I know that most genuinely old native american pottery is very seldom marked. Its definitely an older hand made piece, but I am not an expert and just wanted some feedback. Thanks!!!
I have a piece made with the same fired clay that I picked up at the Cherokee reservation in NC back in the '80s. The artist marked mine on the bottom with their name and 'Cherokee'.
