This has amazing detail for 1/64 scale model. Even the interior is two tone plus silver for the instrument panel. This one has the 241 cu in V8 red ram Hemi. There was also an option for a 6 cylinder engine. This was the first Chrysler to have a fully automatic transmission. One could get a manual also. The automatic was 2 speeds. That does not seem like a lot. There was a 2 door and 4 door version. Pretty much seems to be the typical 1950s vehicle as far as size.
This comes in its own display case. I removed the top to make it easier to photograph. As can be seen it is on on display stand wich can be removed via 2 screws underneath. It needs to be removed from the base to close the passenger door. There is a plastic doodad that holds open the hood although the hood stays open without it. The purpose of the doodad to keep the hood open to show potential buyers. This does seem to actual 1/64 scale. That seems to be the trend with the current high quality die cast cars.
Awesome! Mopar. Is this the first yr of the 'Coronet'?
Thank you very much iggy. It came out in 49.
