This large and heavy vase first didn't make it home with me. I really have too many vases. My husband says that I have a vase addiction. Well, he is probably right but the problem is that I also have a jewellery addiction. So am proud to say that I first resisted and left this beauty in the store. After searching online I realized that it might be a nice piece to add to my collection and, surprisingly, my husband agreed.
The vase is in almost perfect condition except some wear on the flat and polished base. The colour is sort of lavender but the base has a hint of read but I don't think that it could be classified as sommerso. The vase is 11 inches tall and has a weight of more than 5 pounds.
I am horrible in identifying patterns and makers but I think one of the possibilities is that this a Bohemian/Czech Skrdlovice Art Glass vase designed by Jan Beranek. I have, however, seen some similar vases made in Japan. So for the time being, I just put the title as large and heavy vintage glass vase.
Thanks for looking:)
Thanks everyone for the love!
I found this link with some interesting images:

It didn't work the way I wanted it to: If you are interested, scroll down to the listing of the vase and click on the the pictures:)
I have a couple of these pulled vases. The makers were hard to identify as multiple factories in multiple countries made similar vases I discovered, Aseda, Skrdlovice/Beranek, Chribska (?), Sanyu/Narumi, Murano, etc. I am still not sure who made mine. They are really cool, though.
Kwqd, I agree with you. The vases of this style are really cool. They almost look like water or ice. As for the maker, I am still not sure who made mine. Beranek is a possibility but as you can see, I didn't say that in the title. I hate to be wrong. Sometimes it takes a while, but I hope to find out my vase's origin, eventually:)
Thanks for stopping by, kwqd.
Many thanks for loving my vase,
