This 1 1-4" pair of hugging lovebirds brooch has the trademark real gemstone adornment of a carved jade body, carnelian eyes and rose quartz accents on goldtone, by Swoboda Inc of Los Angeles CA (1956-1985), this piece from the 1960s. Paired with a 3"H x 4"W ice blue glass lovebirds figure from Reijmyre Glass ca 1980s

Awh- these are sooo cute too! Your uploads this week are very sweet and cutsey- these are the same! I think these make a lovely little heart shape too which is perfect for Valentine's day.
Whenever I think of lovebirds I remember that scene in Hitchcock's 'The Birds' where the little lovebirds in question tilt side to side when the car is rounding the corner(probably the only scene in that film that made me laugh)

Lauren I had to go with sweet and cute for Valentine's, one of my inspirational holidays - think we all turn into kiddies sending each other heart cards around this time of yr lol. Yes I do remember that seagull birdie pair watching the people leave town after they terrorized them in The Birds, it was like, okay you finally got the message, this is OUR town now go!! And it was funny, in all Hitchcock's suspense films his sense of humor peeks in, great filmmaker. Thanx for your always wonderful compliments
Thanks so much MrsT for the great compliments, I thought the hugging lovebirds pose in both items would be perfect on Valentine's, sort of like they were made for each other! The blue glass birds also came in clear or frosted plain glass versions but you know me, my window glass animals look so much livelier in color
