Today's op shop find, a small Victorian glass vase, possibly of English origin.
Made from clear glass, it is of a truncated conical form, with applied ruby machine threading capped by a collar of clear applied rigaree. The rigaree has a pleasing echo in the crimped top rim, making a rather simple vase look more fancy than it actually is.
It measures around 13 cm tall, 7 cm across the top rim, & 7 cm across the base.
I have seen similar items attributed to various Stourbridge glass makers - Stevens & Williams, Stuart, etc.
Some minor losses to the ruby threading, but for $2.50, I cannot complain. It is always a pleasure to give a piece of Victorian glass a new home...
