This 14" platter is marked "C.T. Raynolds - New York". C.T. Raynolds was a paint/supply distributor in the mid 1800's and later became Devoe Paints (eventually purchased by Celanese Chemical).
Does anyone know why a paint company would have a ceramic platter made with with their company logo? Possibly part of a store display? Anyone ever seen another one like it?
