This vase is about 8.5" high x 3.5" diameter. "JAPAN" is acid etched into the bottom, which is concave. It has a very thin layer of green glass cut to clear. Not sure if this rises to the level of Edo Kiriko. Probably not. A lot of Japanese cut crystal was exported before the 1990s, much I suspect, copies or interpretations of crystal from Europe. The quality of this vase is not great as the top is a bit wonky and there are a few inclusions and bubbles. The cutting work is pretty good, though. This vase is part of my exploration of Japanese cut crystal from the 1950s-1990s. This type of Japanese crystal is pretty inexpensive. I suspect much of it was made by companies like Hoya and Sasaki, but that is just a suspicion, as yet unverified. It probably just skirts the lower level of Japanese art glass.

Thanks, josscee! Unfortunately, I do not use Facebook. I was an information security professional, before I retired, and dropped all of my Social Media accounts several years ago due to privacy concerns. These sites are just too invasive.

Thanks for loving my Japanese cut glass vase truthordare, Karen, josscee and MALKEY!

lol you don't think CW isn't dropping cookies,..and they post they can do what ever they want with your posts here.... smiling your privacy was gone the day they gave you a SS # enjoy the day ..

I have software installed on my computer to detect and block cookies and tracking software. Sites like CW are manageable. Sites like FB are not. Social media sites are among the most invasive and what they provided to me was not worth effort needed to police them. Cookies are a minor annoyance. The personal information brokering that social media sites engage in is too invasive. I don't post anything on CW that I would not want to be publicly available, no PII, etc.

lol you have your email on here witch is a door way to everything about you buy your IP which anyone can open with a 1/3 of a brain and don't need to get by your firewall.. the only safe way is to stay off the computer,. have no cc 's and getting a fake death certificate....good luck ........lol

I use a junk email account from a junk email provider for stuff like CW. None of my personal information is exposed to that account. I access it via the provider's site, not via my home computers. Running any traceroute type software only leads to their site, not mine.

That link was a URL (Universal Resource Locator) to my art collection web site. That is not the same thing as an email address, but can be used by the mailto protocol. Still not the same thing as an email address, though. My art collection web site is hosted by a third party provider in another country. A URL is not traceable to a home computer or to an individual unless the individual makes it identifiable to them by the text in the URL. If you host your own server, then yeah, it can be traced, or if you own the domain and put your PII in ICANN and make it available via Whois... European law has probably limited PII available vi whois.... Not been tracking that.

Through my art collection web site, my junk email address is accessible, though. I added a link to it so viewers of the site could contact me. I broke the link to my art collection web site because I wanted to double check to make sure no other information was exposed there. Pretty sure there is no PII on that site, though, but it is a big site. When I verify that, I will put the link back. I would be very surprised if I find any PII, but I haven't really looked at it closely in a few years.

If you think you can hack one of my email providers' servers to get a no longer extant ip address which I used 20 years ago when I opened that account, knock yourself out. Well, that ip address obviously still exists, it just would not have any association with me. Very doubtful that the email provider even tracked the ip addresses of their customers at that time, though. It depends on how ip addresses are allocated as to whether, or for how long, they could be traced to a specific origin point.

I also have a personal web site which contains such PII information that I am comfortable with sharing about myself, also hosted via another third party provider. If you contact me via my junk email account, I would be happy to send you the link to that site, as well. That site does contain my personal email address, which I share freely, or it would not be published publicly. I have other email addresses for private communication. Never felt the need to encrypt my emails.

I've never seen an upside to hosting my own server so not vulnerable to someone trying to traceroute back to my location. The biggest risk for most folks like me is their behavior, joining sites like FB, clicking on links in emails, social engineering, sharing too much on social media, etc.

There is no personal information on the Internet that I have not deliberately permitted in the past ten years, or so. Unfortunately, until I received my information security education, I did not realize that I could opt out of certain public information databases, so that information is still out there, but ten years out of date.

An email address is a doorway to nothing which you don't deliberately open it to. It all depends on how you decide to use your email address. I have multiple email addresses for multiple purposes.

My art collection web site link is back in my profile. All images are subject to copyright and may be reproduced only with my express written permission.

If anyone wants to actually learn about personal computer and information security as opposed to spouting or reading a bunch of nonsense and gobbledygook, here is a good link for learning the basics.

      https://its.ucsc.edu/security/training/index.html

It is not a bad thing to be ignorant, but it is a bad thing when presented with the opportunity to learn, to continue to wallow in that ignorance and pretend knowledge one does not possess.

Bubba, based on your posts, you have no idea how to hack anyone or anything or how to protect yourself online. I encourage you (or anyone) to study the information at the link that I provided if you want to actually learn something about computers and information security. Feel free to contact me via my junk email account. I would be more than happy to help you.

I don't use multiple CW accounts. Why would anyone need to do that?
