It took me a while to see the porpoise in this but now I see him and think he's a very art deco styled porpoise? Or impressionistic?! His tail and dorsal fin are lovely and his pose is very realistic to that of an actual porpoise- I can see him riding the bow waves of a ship!

Thanks Lauren for the super compliments and observ, yes this porpoise is often confused with a dolphin but Pilgrim also made a back flip dolphin that really didn't look like a dolphin either (hey, it was the 70s and they were trying to put their creative spin on glass animals to compete with other cos). I was lucky to find this as it's a pretty obscure Pilgrim design. Art deco and impressionist are excellent descriptions of this bowed fishy

Many thanks josscee for your great comment, you are right about Pilgrim they had the widest variety of glass animals and they came in many colors, I have always loved their critters and Kanawha's as well

Thanks Phil for the super comment, yes I agree Pilgrim really captured a good diving pose here, almost like a whale breaching from the sea

Many thanks friends for the love
