    Hello,
Curious about this artist S. Bairagi from India. I have a watercolor on paper that appears to be vintage. The only information I can find is Japanese Kansai Seminar House web site where they have his/her artwork in their art collection. Any information would be helpful. Thank you, Lynnette

I have read on the internet that St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kolkata (Calcutta), India houses many paintings of the Christian artist S. Bairagi including an impressive Christ over the city but beside that one article I can not find nothing more on this.

His full name is Sudhir Bairagi. Illustrations by him are often used in religions books in India and China.

Thank you for your helpful information. I think I will have the piece professionally framed instead of rolled up in a drawer! Thank you for giving me more leads to try to find out more about this artist. Lynnette

Hi Lynette, I wondered did you ever find out much more about this artist at all? I have inherited a small watercolour painting by S Bairagi and am interested to know more but I’m coming to a dead end. I’d be so grateful if you could help or advise in any way x

This artist from India lived in Kolkata. He was called home in the year If I am not wrong in and around 1996-1998. He was living in a small home in Central Calcutta (Kolkata) in an area called Beniapukur. He didn't had many relatives. I knew this as he was a distant relative of my Grand aunt. you see his name in Japanese Kansai Seminar House as he went there once in an gathering at an invitataion of Christian artists association of Asia. He lived a humble life out of poverty and his only source of income was from his painting.
