Here's the 3rd of today's 'prizes' (?) from somebody else's house. Who here has suggestions on how to properly clean pewter?? ;-) :-)

This is a pair of salt/pepper shakers, with brown glass insides. They are, as seen, slightly banged up and worn (found in a drawer amongst other not quite proper storage of other 'junque'?) but are nonetheless mostly intact. About 1-3/4" wide and 5-1/2" tall, the bottoms of each are stamped (near as I can tell, anyways?) "WEB PEWTER WEIGHTED".

And that's about the extent of what I know about 'em beyond a cursory Google look, suggesting that they might be of relatively recent manufacture from a company now located in PA, likely within the past ~20yrs. No matter, I kinda like them anyway...if I find a way to get 'em cleaned up so's to potentially use them, or just so's they'll look prettier sitting on a shelf somewhere, I'll be happy... ;-) :-) :-)

I don't know if it is the right thing to do, or not, but I just use warm soapy water....

All they got for these pics was a wipe w/damp paper towel, Kevin. Online reports I've seen so far tend to suggest normal silver polish or somesuch, but for the case of really old pieces where polishing the patina away might be a 'bad thing' to do...that doesn't seem to be the case with these shakers, so I suppose I prolly don't have anything to worry about...THANKS for taking the time to <love it> and comment anyways?!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
