So I was out thrift store cruising and came across this. It looks like it had been put out on display and never used. It seems to have the original edge (still sharp).

I can’t find a date anywhere on it. If anyone could help me date this, it would be greatly appreciated.

The tang stamp on this was used during the 1960's & 70's. Pretty common knife but you could get a Big Mac, fries and a drink for it, no dessert or seconds.

Back again. I think this was their model #1096 and the last model they made under a boy scout contract. They were competing with Schrade and another company, I forget the name but anyway, Ulster lost out.

A bit off topic, but Rough Rider (China) makes a really nice copy of this knife. I carry a little RR lockback canoe knife in my pocket every day that I put pants on. (Which is not every day since I am retired! TMI?)

Since your knife is apparently unused and in its original box, even though apparently not worth a lot, I would buy a RR if you bought this to use and put this one away or pass it on to a Boy Scout memorabilia collector...

I have several of these and they are great knives..... High quality and very inexpensive.

Very cool that it has the box.
