The orange horse seems to have the advantage of his beauty here !~
Chess piece is a cool brooch, and I love the amberina colouring of the Kanawha!
Ooh these are fantastic! I love the dignified look of the horse head brooch, it's so regal (I imagine a member of royalty wearing it)
Both are very nice, the chess piece has so much detail!

Thank you Phil for the fantastic compliment, yes the orange & gold horse head is a lovely color and nice design by Kanawha, had my eye on this one a few yrs ago & of course just when ready to buy it, someone else "stole" it! But fortunately it came around again & I thought it paired nicely with the chess piece
Karen thank you so much for the lovely praise and enjoying both of these, this is one of those times I think the pieces "help" each other as a pair, esp the ivory brooch would be a bit washed out alone
Aw Ken, totally fabulous compliments my friend, I am delighted you liked these two pieces. Yes chess piece brooches are pretty pricey, got this one on rl yrs ago but recall it wasn't cheap, and I love the horse's curved mane it's a pretty Carnegie design
Hi Lauren and thanks for the marvelous compliment, I can absolutely see royalty wearing this brooch, the horse has a very proud bearing! Always grateful for your kind words and your spin on things is delightful
So you are a chess master Thomas, I bow to you, that is such a complex game and a great skill to have, I understand it helps with deep thinking (I can only play checkers, alas). Yes the game of kings, there are so many gorgeous expensive chess sets in the world. Thanks for your wonderful comment
MrsT I really appreciate your great compliment & that you liked both pieces, I think the detail on the Carnegie chess horse is terrific, and how about that flared leaf like base, what a super accent
Many thanks Alleycat for the very kind compliment, these both were terrific finds for me as I am a horse lover, I used to ride as a teenager
Mary thank you so much for the marvelous compliment, I really hoped you would enjoy these esp the lucite horse, as you have such a primo collection of this product, and fashioned into such gorgeous jewelry pieces. Carnegie did quite a few lucite animal designs, somewhere I also have a pretty lime green owl she made, have to find that it is doubtless still in storage
Many thanks Pascale for the thoughtful love and always grateful for the support :)
