Found this in my dad's basement he was a meat cutter many years ago anyone know what time frame this was from it was never used is it a J.M Schneider meat company item

At a glance, it doesn't nearly look like a meat cutting tool, but instead some sort of "laser-level" or "transit" device used in the construction trades...??
Yeah that's what makes me wonder why Schneider's meat company gave it to him he used to be a butcher
This has nothing to do with J.M Schneider meat company. It is a Schneider's self leveling level/transit. I think they still sell them on Amazon. Fairly new item. There should be company information in the paperwork if you still have it. Should also show their web site.
