OK, let's get started with the assorted glassware from the "cleanout house". ;-) :-)
The bottom of this kinda attractive (if not likely distingushed?) butter dish was found amongst piles of mostly plastic cups and crap in a kitchen cabinet. Its top was found wrapped in old newspaper in a box of other misc. glassware in the attic. GO FIGURE, but I really did need a 2nd (3rd?) butter dish anyway, and this one's pretty as well as undamaged, no chips/etc on either piece. :-) :-) :-)
No maker's marks on it, and I don't have any reason to think its anything other than relatively contemporary in age/maker, whoever that might have been. I also found a little glass tray and a cruet which *might* be the same pattern, at least they're close -- stay tuned to see those.
yep, fairly contemporary piece; Anchor Hocking 'Wexford' pattern c 1960s-90s
THANKS SO MUCH TallCakes for the ID on this!! (glad I wasn't too far off, I must be learning *something* by hanging around here?!! <lol> Thanks too to Thomas for your comment as well as Vynil33rpm, Newfld, Ben, Trey, Watchsearcher, TimeTraveller, AdeleC, fortapache, vetraio50, Brunswick, Elizabethan, and aura for the <love it>s!!! :-) :-) :-)
I actually was slightly delighted when I found the lid in that attic box -- I'd already found the dish itself but ignored it because it was otherwise pretty disgustingly dirty. Once then comparing the two, it was another pleasant surprise to find that not only "they fit" each other, but actually *matched*?!! <giggle> (and the dishwasher took care of all that grunge handily...) ;-)
