This Hull Pottery tea set includes the heavy crossover tea or coffee mugs that were quite popular during the 1970s. And is this not a ‘70s colour? Yet Hull made this tea set around 1967 ... and not as late as 1971. Part of the House ‘n Garden Dinnerware line, the colour name of this orange with ivory drip tea set is “Tangerine.” Tangerine was made for a very limited amount of time, during which there were other more popular colours manufactured, as well. This is a rare set.

Hull Pottery was a white clay pottery, centered in the village of Crooksville, Ohio.

keramikos — What an amazing amount of research! Thank you. I am reading through it. I obtained my information, placed here, on probable 1971-end manufacture dating only, from the “old books,” antique cataloguing, found along the way — Roberts et al & Loveless Gick-Burke. I sincerely thank you for sharing additional understanding. (I do have a comparable, more extensive Mirror Brown set, as well; but, if you’re a dedicated Hull collector, you know, of course, that MB was a bread and butter line for Hull, and, therefore, is not rare.)

Funny story: I own an “office” cup & saucer set favourite of the last president of Hull Pottery. It was previously on display behind glass in the HPC main foyer. Guess what: it’s not made by Hull. Smiles.

      Thanks, again.
