This 2"W harp seal brooch has a white rhinestone body with black eyes & nose accents on goldtone. By Canada's Butler 5th Avenue from the 1980s, when this breed was on the endangered wildlife list but thankfully today is far improved
Really? A seal brooch? I have never seen one before and this is adorable!!!
Awe! I don’t think I’ve seen a seal brooch either! Cute
Awh- he's so cute! And of course the real creatures are very cute too, all are so chubby and fluffy- your is so endearing looking, his black eyes look so bright and shiny and his pose makes him look like he's just been plonked on some ice!
So cute ! Will surely put a smile on a face :-)
This is a very nice brooch. Butler made some quite interesting ... certainly different in theme rhinestone brooches. I found a Butler brooch once upon a time that I couldn’t even identify what it was: the top was covered with a chalky white gluey substance. I took it home and started to lightly wash the surface, and discovered a spray of clear rhinestones underneath. One of my favourite pieces. Love your find.
With sincere thanks all for the love

Right Karen, this is an unusual seal I've never seen another of this type & was so excited to find this, these animals used to be the face of many wildlife organizations back in the day they were endangered. Thanks for the super compliment & observ
Thanks Ken for the great compliment, he is a cute little fellow right, think it is supposed to be a baby harp seal & baby animals are just irresistible
Thanks so much MrsT for the lovely compliment, I know this is a special seal breed, not your usual seal with ball on its nose from the water amusement parks, so a delight to have in my collection
Lauren thank you for the wonderful descriptive comment as always, I can envision these lovely white seals in the far north right along with you :) Isn't it a shame the way they are hunted to this day, there ought to be a more humane way to keep their population down
Thank you Mani for the super kind compliment, I'm glad this cutie can put a smile on your face as it does for me
Daisy thanks so very much for your fabulous comment, I so love the jewelry by Butler 5th Ave (not to be confused with Butler & Wilson as many sellers do, the marks are so different) esp the figurals, they are never copycats of other designers and have outstanding unique pieces. How great that you found a beautiful piece after cleaning it, it pays to have patience when you see something by this great designer!
Many thanks Shuzbut for the kind love for this sweet sad little harp seal, I get very sentimental about these little fellas
Thank you all for the love for this baby seal
