This was my great grandmother's vase. I would like to know more about it. The bottom of the vase has partial lettering that looks like it says Weller. The vase is 11 1/2 inches high. There is a symbol beneath the Weller lettering. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Hi from Sydney, Australia!
That looks like Weller Glendale. "Glendale was introduced in the early 1920s and is popular with collectors of middle period Weller Pottery". "Rudolph Lorber, an Austrian native, joined Weller in 1905 after working as a modeler at the Vance Faience Company in Tiltonville, Ohio. He created many of Weller's embossed lines until he retired in 1940. His importance to Weller cannot be overstated; his embossed lines and modeled figurines were usually beautifully executed, and great sellers."
The other mark will probably be a decorator's mark. If you post a picture of the marks, someone is bound to be able to help you with identifying them.
One other thing.....how tall is it?
Thanks for sharing the vase.
