    (897 items)

Chribska, together with Sklo Union and Borske Sklo were early collecting interests of mine. Now, after downsizing, I'm getting into the hard decision area of deciding what stays and what goes. This is what I can keep of Chribska. Though perhaps I could squeeze two more pieces on there!

Wonderful collection of the colors and optic delight of Hospodka !!!!!
    2. kwqd kwqd, 5 years ago
Nice! Maybe you could put a shelf up there and add another tier!

      Gorgeous!

Thank you, Kevin. I tried to confine my Chribska collection to the Hospodka designs so it is encouraging that you should see them as Hospodka.

kwqd, sadly I can't just put up a shelf for Chribska, I'd need a structural engineer lol. They haven't been displayed at all since I gave away the solid oak French dresser!

Mrstyndall, thank you, they do make a statement!

Indeed Craig, and the total opposite of less is more!

What a wonderful photo, and they must lift your spirits on a grey day.
      Colour therapy.
I don't know the shape of the two outside pieces. The green and amber really grabs me!
    10. sklo42 sklo42, 5 years ago
The sun is on the room in the morning and yes they can sparkle. You've spotted one I really like too, the amber is almost burnt orange and the green is greyish! Plus the optics are a little more delicate than some. Just need to find the propeller shape and I'm done.

I am just developing a passion for these. In light of (your) comment 10 above, is that not the propeller shape three from Left??
    14. sklo42 sklo42, 2 years ago
Wow22, Well spotted. I think the explanation is that the first display had fewer pieces. I added more and changed the photo to this one. Now the same window sill has seventeen pieces jammed in, that is another five!
I don't suppose you live in the UK, Wow22.........
    15. Wow22, 2 years ago
No, I live in Australia. More sun to shine through these glorious colours, lol.
AND... I have just purchased my first propeller in purple/red!!

Congrats, my favourite colourway, though sometimes its more blue and pink. I like there being more sun but I cannot stand heat! Twelve years in S.E. France was hard at times.
    17. Wow22, 2 years ago
I am OK with blue and pink. Haven't received it yet to know! Knowing this has been a longtime collecting interest of yours, can you (or anyone else) point me to any good research on these? - for example, a way to identify the older colourways from the more recent... Thanks, Jude

I don't :( but I have found a number of catalogues online which are a small help...
    19. sklo42 sklo42, 2 years ago
You could also try, http://www.czechglassguide.cz This should take you to a site run by Jindrich Parik, where information is listed by maker. You can choose translation into English.

The ebay site 20thCenturyGlass has an encyclopaedia. Top right of this page you can put Chribska into a search function. Finally when you have a few Hospodka pieces you will come to recognise the flow and symmetry he brought to his designs. The glass itself will be your best teacher.

Such good advice - I appreciate it. (Yes, the catalogues I had located on 20thCenturyGlass.) Thank you for taking the time.
