I received this Incolay box as a gift in the early 80's. It was in a non-A/C storage unit for awhile and when I got it out the glued lid hinge was detached, which isn't surprising, but the mystery is that the lid was warped. You can see I'm holding down the back right corner and the opposite front corner is lifted. You can also see picture of the lid looking at the edge and see the warping. Has anyone encoutered this before? I assume heat was the cause since it was in storage in Austin, TX. What I'd like to know is there any way to straighten it such as putting weight on the top and reheating it?
Put a drop of water on the under side of the lid and time how long it takes to soak in. Should be less than 2 minutes if it doesn't have a sealer on it. Let me know what you learn about the drop of water.
Can you let me know how this turned out? I also have one that is warped. Though not as badly. And i suspect it is not sealed. I would like to seal it. What should i use?
