Franciscan Ashtray - can anyone provide any information

Hi. Hope someone can help with this ashtray. Found in the North West of England I believe it is from Gladding, McBean & Co. under their Franciscan trade name but with a mark that I've not been able to identify in order to date it. Deep red on the upper surface and brown on the underside with 3 'legs' to support it. Marked with a simple impressed FRANCISCAN on the base and nothing else. It measures 8 inches (20 cm) in diameter and 1.5 inches (3 cm) deepand weighs just over 21 ounces (almost 600 gms). If anyone can provide any information (date, designer, official colour of the glaze, name of design) that would be tremendous. Many thanks
