I recently bought this vase at an estate sale--just because I liked it. I would like to know more about it. I don't know if the mark on the bottom is upside down, sideways, or right side up? And I would like to know what it says or means. It is incised into the pottery, as are the fish designs around the vase. Does anyone know if it is Chinese, Japanese, Korean or something else? And, any guesses to age? That's a lot of questions. Thanks for any help!

I believe it's Japanese and the script should be rotated 90deg clockwise.
      It's a beauty!
That's all I can say, sorry.
