One's *always* gotta be careful when rifling thru drawersful of generally useless household hardware and cheap plastic tools -- just in case there's an actually *good* one or two lurking in there somewheres too...?? I think this one qualifies for that. ;-) :-) :-)
This is a CLAUSS NO. 4258 "7.75" Shear - Straight, One Blade Serrated" as identified here as a currently available product (though renumbered now) on the CLAUSS website.

This pair only differs slightly from the brand new ones pictured there. (with its originally black painted handles and slightly more etching on its blade) I don't have the slightest idea how much older than 'now' that might make it, guessing (only) at least a few decades or so. No matter that either -- after a couple trips thru the dishwasher and a little more scrubbing to remove all the residual grime, it appears they've re-emerged from the former neglect to once more become a pretty nifty (also perfectly intact and no doubt perfectly still completely USABLE?!) pair of shears/scissors. I'm certain it won't take me *too* long to start to find 'new uses' for 'em around here...?? :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
you said it right when you said it was "nifty", nice find.
THANKS BUNCHES to Watchsearcher, fortapache, Newfld, vetraio50, hotairfan, Brunswick, Irishcollector., & Trey for your <love it>s!!
hotairfan, they're still currently just laying here on my desk (because I enjoy looking at 'em?!) and I'm still trying to decide whether I should add 'em to my normal 'service tools' bag in the truck, or confine 'em to the kitchen drawer instead...?
