Today's arrival was this quirky & colourful Czech glass vase, purchased within Australia.
This type of vase does not turn up often here, & with the brass flower frog intact it was a good buy, so I jumped at the chance.
Even if the local antique fairs & flea markets are off the agenda for a while, the mail is still going through & online shopping will fill the void for the time being.
This vase is made from clear glass with a multicoloured spatter. It sits on three applied cobalt blue strutted legs, & has the original brass flower frog intact. Measures 18 cm tall including the frog, & in perfect condition.
It was sold as Kralik.
I have owned a similar shaped vase in the past, though it was a rather dull opaque blue with the same cobalt legs, & lacking the flower frog. This is a far better replacement!
Yeah - I’ve never seen that shape for a from... one can definitely go bonkers tracking down every Tripod shape -
Impressive size too, can't be bad!
Sometimes these rocket-style pieces look even better upside down!
kralik1928 - wow, that's awesome! It certainly struck me as something a bit different, & also rarely seen in Australia, which is why I went for it...
Many thanks also, Peggy! Yes, it has a nice presence to it, & the frog really caps it off. We well know the challenge of finding vases with original frogs...
I agree, Bambus1920, these vases look great from any angle!
Beautiful Colors:)
