This *was* yet one more prize from a closet shelf in the cleanout house (its actual fixture/socket having long since been replaced by a ceiling fan no doubt?) until yesterday...when it'd finally got cleaned and photo'ed, ready to be shown. 1st 3 pics were from that.

BUT OH SO SADLY (and wholly due to my own negligence, by otherwise then leaving it sitting in a chair for measurements/etc when I was gonna write the showing, where it also ended up with a shirt kinda tossed over it too) my partner came back in the house and naturally wanted to sit down...the "crash" was rather immediate and I knew exactly what it was...did I mention the chair in question is my old barber chair with its *very solid metal* base...the poor thing didn't stand a chance, as pic #4 clearly shows... <crybye>

It WAS a lovely (if admittedly probably not terribly unusual?) likely 1940's-ish pressed glass ceiling light diffuser/shade, of the style which would have been suspended by 3 little chains from its actual fixture. Probably about a foot across and 4"-ish deep, I hadn't quite taken/noted the actual dimensions.

And after duly picking up the pieces into a trashcan and taking 'em out last nite, I actually went and recovered 'em all (pic#4 again) today, because for some ridiculous reason I *can't quite yet* bring myself to really throw the remains away...??

Oh, so sad..... I’ve been on the lookout for years for an old glass fixture similar to that.
      I’m disappointed for you!

My KIND THANKS for the shared sympathies with me, over my clumsiness with this poor old light shade. bobby725, Vynil33rpm, valentino97, vetraio50, Brunswick, Watchsearcher, fortapache, officialfuel, & aura -- I appreciate y'all's thoughts. Still haven't been able to do anything more than collect its bits in the box as shown...mebbe one of these days I'll come up with some creative idea of something to do to 're-use' the shards for something else instead...?

OMG, why do we have the urge to keep the pieces?! Personally, I anthropomorphize too much.

If there is any 'good news' to followup with the story of this thing -- it'd have to be that I actually have come across a 2nd (smaller, not as fancy, but *with* its actual fixture) light after finding (and breaking) this one -- no time yet to otherwise clean it up or take pics to show...

Sammyz...I also don't understand that compulsion (to keep the pieces) but am just yet one more victim of the same kinda feeling, usually... ;-) ;-) ;-)
