This pair of earrings feature delicately carved flowers in high relief surrounded by very fine gold wire filigree borders. Birds and tassels exquisitely rendered in filigree gold embellish it. They were made by Lee Ching, a prolific silversmith and jewellery firm operating at various locations in Guangzhou and Hong Kong from the 1840s to 1880s. The jewellery was most probably intended for export or for foreign residents in China.
