This little covered bowl is about 3.25" high x 3" in diameter (minus feet). There is a flower, maybe a pansy, molded into the top. The bottom has three ledges at the rim, though not sure why since the top only has two. There is the remains of something like hard water residue around the topedge of the bottom. I was able to remove some using a stainless steel scrubbing pad and soapy water. I may try soaking it in some denture tablets and see if that cleans it up. My images are not great as I am shooting this using artificial light in the evening. I may try again when it is sunny. I call it my little Buck Rogers covered bowl since it reminds me of a space ship. This is a thrift shop find from a few years ago. I have never been able to identify the maker. Pretty sure it is American made...

1970's terrarium. I had one just like it.

@flashlarue - Thanks! That would not have been in the list of my top 100 guesses! How did that work? It is sooo small...

@keramikos - Thanks for your suggestions. All are fair game for glass (yep it is glass). I usually try denture tabs first as that is the easiest thing to do and gives me an idea of how much trouble I am in!

      Thanks Kevin!

BTW keramikos, I never use steel wool on glass. I do use stainless steel scouring pads. Steel wool is too abrasive. One of the tricks that I learned for removing rust from firearms is to use stainless steel pads and oil, instead. It is much less abrasive, probably because there are no fine strands of steel involved.

I like it though...It could look rather space age, or something a mad scientist might use in the right setting

Thanks LaurenRedmond! Rocket Ship was the first thing I thought of when I found it. I have read a lot of 1930s Science Fiction and this would have fit right on the cover of an old paperback, with some color and details applied.
