more pretty purple flowers

Just because I had to get out of the house for a couple quick errands otherwise (though I didn't go to work, prolly will tomorrow) and because they were there, and -- well, H*LL...don't we ALL need one more extra little glimpse of *something pretty* in ALL our lives right now, today...???

These are a couple of a small row of youngish trees (once more I'll havta rely on someone else to tell me what they actually are?) a few blocks from my home, in front of the (new) Wingate Center for the Arts building on the University of AR Little Rock campus. There are also numerous others of these scattered around other areas of the campus (and indeed the City) but these were the convenient ones to swing into the (empty today...classes canceled and all that) parking lot and grab a few phonecam pics of -- even despite the general 'overcast-ness' of the day.

First pic is two (of the 4 or so) right there together, the other pics are closer shots of fresh blooms and a few buds that haven't quite opened up yet. And YES, they smell just as heavenly as one might imagine...at least if one's sinuses aren't already clogged up with other crap... <sigh>

I don't have one of these in my own yard -- but when/if that d*mned Bradford Pear tree finally gives up its ghost, hopefully not dropping half of itself on my roof meanwhiles...that thing is actually already very literally 'bolted back together' with a 1/2" (at least?) dia. steel rod thru its midsection, where its tried to do so something like that already, years before it became *mine*...?? I'll be looking to replace it with one of these instead... ? ;-) :-) :-)
