I am going through my mother's extension collection of jewelry. Old is mixed with new. Fine is mixed with costume. It is a real treasure hunt. And I am learning...love this Victorian coral piece.

Very pretty! Many of this type of Victorian small branch coral pins were Gold-Filled, but some are 9 or 10 carat solid gold. The coloring of the metal looks fine, so even if there are dark soldering stains on the back, it's not to be passed off as g.f. until tested.
I have a piece similar to this and now I know what it is; I kinda thought it could be real gold as well. I will have to post a pic of it soon.
