This 1 3-4"W pair of mother & baby elephants brooch has black enamel, white rhinestones & green eyes, on goldtone. Marked craft for Gem-Craft from the 1970s, design taken from Cartier's fine jewelry version

This is a lovely brooch, I adore the colour of them both! Black, white and silver are great monochrome colours and you rarely see them on an elephant...they're almost art deco?!

Thank you Maureen for the wonderful compliments, I think that baby is a cutie too! I've had this for awhile & always loved the design, then when scanning around google I saw the same exact vintage design in 14K gold by Cartier being sold for $3K!! They had also made this in all diamonds, can imagine what that cost - well I am quite happy with my costume piece thank you very much!
Lauren many thanks for the fantastic compliments and yes you are right, it does have the appearance of art deco with the coloring, it reminds me of another animal brooch I have of a greyhound dog in the deco style. Marvelous perception as always!
