These two Spatter or Spangle rose bowls are apparently typical and have been attributed to Stevens & Williams or Legras
and date from around 1900 They are the only spatter examples in our vast collection of glass but it would be nice to get a firm attribution
They are hand blown and have snapped rough pontils and unlike many examples they do not have a contrasting inner casing they are 110mm diameter and stand 85mm high

Welcome to CW & looking forward to seeing your vast collection of glass!
So many companies made spatter glass, it was such a popular style over a long period of time. Personally I think more likely Legras than S&W, but could perhaps be Bohemian also. Very nice to have a matching pair!

There are two on the bay usa selling as spangle and a similar vase and all are claimed to be S&W however item 2334 in the legras cat is also similar

P.S. we have over 2000 pieces of glass of many types but mostly cut crystal and somewhat ordinary so we will not bore anybody too much

Hmmm...just because someone on eBay has ID'd something as S&W doesn't mean it is...eBay sellers are not necessarily to be taken as the ultimate authority on attributions...for example, a lot of the vases with applied flowers that are listed on eBay as by S&W were made in China in the 1970s...

      Thanks for the reminder.
The Legras I can find seem to have ground pontils so should I perhaps be looking elsewhere
