YUP, y'all can guess where this one also came from... ;-) :-)
Not sure if it was meant to be a candy dish (w/lid now long gone) or an ashtray, seems like it was last used as the latter no matter what it first was. Its 'serrated' top edge just doesn't seem designed to hold cigs (with its slightly too small triangular profile/design to each of its 'teeth'...?) but who knows...?
["NOT ME" would be the answer to that question...anybody else have a clue to offer??] <beg>
Anyways, it is a kinda hefty chunk of glass, measuring a little over 7" across its squarish sides, 2" deep, and weighing in at about 2 pounds. Pic #4 shows the logo, raised along with the larger ring surrounding it on the otherwise smooth inner surface, all the patterning is on its exterior surfaces. The logo looks like a "G" with an "I" (or an arrow??) thru it...I don't know if that means 'Indiana Glass' and/or what age that might suggest, a quick (so far only) Google search didn't find me any useful pics of IG logos nor any other odd glassware that looks like this one.
It does have a few small fleabites around its inner top edge, but nothing that really detracts from it IMHO...thus why I picked it in the first place. (while otherwise generally leaving behind other 'chipped/cracked/broken' stuff) I just kinda *like* it anyway...?? ;-) :-) :-)
superimposed IG is Imperial Glass. thjis is their NUCUT #446 square berry bowl
More belated THANK YOUS first to TallCakes for the ID of this bowl, also to Vynil33rpm, fortapache, vetraio50, AdeleC, Brunswick, MALKEY, Watchsearcher, keramikos, & aura for taking a moment to tap y'all's <love it> buttons!!
