Hi all! Hope this post finds everyone here at CW feeling well! At least we have always practiced “Social Distancing” and I think we’ve all done that fairly well, don’t you agree?
This is a pair of Paua Shell or Abalone earrings, whichever way one prefers to call them. Originally, they came as screwbacks but I can’t wear them like that so I’ve changed them up a couple times and can see that one needs a lil more tweaking to lift it some, I’ll get to it eventually. These go perfect with freiheit’s recent post of her cuff, right?
As long as I’m posting them, I might as well ask, on the back stamp says Hecho En Mexico 925 in a circle, what I don’t understand is the ETC in the middle! Anyone know what that stands for? Other than ‘etcetera, etcetera, etcetera’! (Well!)
Stay healthy out there everyone! Much love!
Enjoy!
Gorgeous earrings share, love the iridescence. On the back it translates as made in Mexico & 925 is for sterling silver, then the ETC is the initials of the person or company who made them, which there were thousands of these but there is a list online of the bigger co's. Great find - all good here, stay well - Jenni
Hi Jenni, thanks for the comment. These pics do not do these earrings any justice but on my own pc in my pic folder they sure look different! Strange. Yes, I just don't recall the initials in the middle, I'm sure I have seen them before, just don't know when and I also know that their way of keeping track of the artist is not so sophisticated and hard to decipher. Would you happen to know the link you are speaking about, I'd love to take a peek at it! Thanks hun!
Mary! That's cute...extra too cute! No apologies necessary love. You do what you have to do. If I can be of any help, the distraction would be very cool, but I imagine your customers know you so well...are those stores even open right now? Jeez, well, you let me know kiddo, I'm here for you no matter what the subject might be! You hang in there and keep pushing forward. Learning something new, especially under pressure would be tough but I know you, you got this!!! So much love to you!!! And thanks for checkin' in!!!
Thanks to all that stopped in, much appreciated!!!

You did such a great job! I have a few screw-back earrings, too. I never wear them because I find this system very uncomfortable. Also, I am a chicken when it comes to changing any jewellery. I am always afraid that I mess it up. Your post is encouraging :)
I forgot to say thanks for sharing. They do match my bracelet!
The site I have used is 925-1000.com, then (if you are using a phone, enlarge words) on the bottom right is a section on Mexican Marks & Makers, hope U find it :)
Gudrun, you are so welcome. Sometimes it's hard for me to leave a piece as is. I'm not as creative with it as Kyratango is and sometimes pieces do break. I changed the fourth pic to show the screw backs original to the earrings. They have a layer of shell over the top there. On my next post, I bought the piece broken because I had an idea for it and crossed my fingers, hoping it would work... Thanks for the sweet comment!!!
Jenni, oooohhh yeah, I did forget they were on there. I use that site quite a bit to find the Native American makers marks if I don't know the mark. Definitely the best of the Mexican makers are there! Thank you!!!
Thank you Ted_Straub for stopping here and loving! ;)
