How old is this? Old enough to have a picture of a wringer washer on the back as it is useable for every type of washer. Also it is 10 cents off! So it would have to be from when anyone cared if a box of laundry detergent was 10 cents off. And how did that work as there is no bar code or removable coupon. 1950s-1960s? Let me look it up. Surf was introduced in 1959 by Lever Brothers so this is 1960s probably early 1960s.
Now Surf is obviously trying to be Tide which is the king of laundry detergent. There are basically two kinds of laundry detergent, Tide and not Tide. I have no feelings myself about it as I am not that picky but I do have expertise on this subject. Tide is much more expensive and is one of the most popular items to steal at grocery and other stores. Not because of the Tide Pods challenge which is long over. People would fill their carts up with Tide Pods and just make a run for the parking lot in what is called a cart push. Tide, infant formula and razors are the most popular items to steal. Right up there with alcohol and steaks. No one steals bread. The point of all this is that Surf is fake Tide but a cool vintage item still. Plus I bought it from the dealer that has vintage trailer for a store.
I remember this from the 60's - my fave were the ones with the huge towels inside !~
Thank you very much Phil. You used to get free stuff with everything.
And thank you very much Ms.CrystalShip.
