Found today April 4! ... we walked far up in a deep ravine & found a dump very high above on a ridge & water run-off. This jug was embedded 3-4 ft down in the water-revealed layers & I pulled it out. I'm not knowledgable on early primitive pottery. Can you tell me how it was made (for example, the handle)? when made/how old? what kind of glaze? region likely made in (is it Pittsburgh/ Pennsylvania or brought here from somewhere)? -- DESCRIPTION: ovoid or bulbous(?), red clay, 11 1/2" tall, heavy, handle is vertically crooked, "beveled" bottom edge, overall seems crude, no mark that I can see. Cool find; can't believe it survived in one piece amid all the glass & pottery shards! Help! Would love to know all about it! THANKS!!!

How exciting and what a great find. I would be up early in the morning and right back where you found this one.
