This brooch tested as 10k. I haven't figured out if the stones are real. I thought they were glass as I found the piece at a thrift. It meaures 1 and 1/2 inches wide and 1 and 1/4 inches tall.

You know jewels better than I but maybe amethyst and moonstones? Both are semi-precious and might go with the gold.
The stones look like milky opals to me around the large amethyst, and an antique brooch, a bit oxidized by time, due to the low gold karat metal. I think its a great piece especially where you found it, I would have laughed all the way home.
