These two scale models, the Howard 34 & Southwark 38, were made in the late 1920's by noted model builder Donald M. Tiffany for New York City fire-fighting collector Nelson Cowell. They came into my possession in 1974 as I went through my employer's hotel "junk" headed for the dumpster. Both engines are one-of-a-kind.
The Howard 34 measures 16.5" x 5.5" x 7.5" and the Southwark 38 measures 19" x 5.5" x 9.5". Both were made of authentic materials from original blueprints.
I have for years unsuccessfully attempted to obtain an appraised value estimate for insurance purposes. Now, I would like to give the models to the NYC Fire Museum and wish to establish a value for that purpose.
If someone knows of an appraisor who may be able to assist me in determining the estimated value of these very special pieces I would appreciate their contact information. Thank you.

Hi to bosterling1; I recently purchased a handmade, had pulled HOWARD 34 fire pumper. This would go well with a 6 inch tall doll. Probably a 1/12 or 1/10 size model? Mine is very similar to Yours but some differences. The front hose holder is brass on top of a square box with a dome that measures 1 3/4 inches wide, 3/4 inches deep & 1 3/4 to top of dome. This model has plenty of simulated brass trim & brass deacaling pin stripes. This model is built mosetly of wood, brass & plastic. Mine to the top of the rear tank is 6 inches, outside hand rail to outside hand rail is 4 1/2 inches, overall length is 13 inches. Rear wheel diameter is 3 1/2 inches, front wheels are 2 1/4 inches. Left side has a brass holder for an extra length of hose. I recently purchased mine at auction. I've done some restoration to this. This is a very nicely detailed built model. Your model sounds slightly larger than this one. Yours is the second one I've seen now. Hope You find the pieces & parts You need to restore Yours! Your HOWARD 34 model looks GREAT!!!
