This will be a quick/dirty post, it's been a very long day and I have to be up again too early in the AM whether I wanna be or not.

Continuing the semi-recent series of 'pretty flowers and stuff' posts from ALL y'all's, this is just one more to hopefully help brighten somebody's day somewhere.

No clue what variety of tree it is (somebody else will probably clue us all in shortly, again?) it otherwise occupies the corner of my front yard opposite the Bradford Pear. Yes I also need to trim off about the bottom 5-6' of it up away from the ground, but that is otherwise pretty when the d*mned thing does bloom, during the rest of the yr it just provides a little bit more of my front yard I don't havta mow under since even most weeds (much less grass) gets enough light down there. Also a handy place to kick errant sticks/etc from the big oak/pine trees around it underneath, instead of running over 'em with the mower or picking 'em up beforehand... ;-)

It also does seem to be one of those varieties of whatever that looks lovely but actually *stinks* to h*ll (like y'all suggested the pear tree should though it doesn't?) as of a couple nights ago now when I actually grabbed these pics...or maybe I was just standing too close to the trash cans...?

M y daffodils are buried under snow. Hopefully there will be something to photograph after it melts.

I think this could be a Photinia serratifolia. Known for it's "interesting" smell...look it up... :-)
Personally, I don't think that's what it smells like, LOL!
