    Anyone know why these were made during the Gold Rush. The Badge is 2 inches dia, hammer 2 inches with inscription "Paydirt POW WOW"

    I don't know what the hammer is made of its in excellent condition for being over 100 years old.

    It was found onboard a 1935 yacht that belonged to a relative.
