Hi. This is a very cool hand made scale model of an A.B. Dick Videograph system 910 and 940 that was presented to Time Inc. (Time Magazine/Sports Illustrated/People Magazine) in 1961. It is very carefully crafted and is exact in every way to the original. We had 2 of the actual label printing systems in our print shop until 1987 when we went completely digital. There are 2 brass plaques attached to the base. The plaque on the left reads "Installed at Time Inc 540 Michigan Ave Chicago, Illinois January 1961. The plaque on the right reads "AB Dick" and has their Chicago address. I was with Time for 22 years and this was always on a desk in the print shop, until the last 7 years, when it ended up on my desk. When Time was sold to the Meredith Corporation we closed up shop and I rescued this from being tossed in a dumpster.

The craftsmanship of this is insane.
It measure 6.5 inches tall x 24 inches long by 3.75 inches wide

Does anyone have any idea if this is a salesman sample? AB Dick is now pretty much gone as a company and the company that bought them was no help. I'd love to find out more about this. The actual model number is an AB Dick model #910 for the first 2 components on the left, and then the remaining 3 units on the right make up an AB Dick model # 940. I initially thought that when a 910 and a 940 are connected they make up a new model number, but I have been unable to find out. I would also love any suggestions as to the best place to post this. Thank you!!!!!
