I have 4 of these “dolls” for a lack of a better term that I would like to get more information on. I understand that they may have been made through a government program during the depression to help artist find work. The 4 are a pair of women and men dressed in clothes of a particular era. Thank you

Your wonderful dolls are W.P.A, dolls ( Works Progress Administration ) You can read about the program . It was to put people to work during the Great Depression 1935-1943 and these dolls were sent around to schools to show children costumes or clothes of different era's as teaching tools . They also made dolls with different cultures dressed in native clothes . They are a wonderful piece of history . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Art_Project
