Here are some of my favorite pieces. The image of the two scales are in my collection. One from England and one from Hungary. The image of the cabinet is a mystery to me. I do not know what type of cabinet it is but it's fascinating. My research has turned up nothing to confirm what it is. Most responses I get are speculation. I bought it from a private sale and the prior owner only knew her father had it for many years. The image of the figurines are porcelain Dresden lace. The image of the dental cabinet is from a 1915-1920 era. The photo's are of the dentist who used it in his office. I also have his dental licenses framed and a couple more photos of his office with this cabinet shown.
Spectacular scales and love the collector cabinets for use of a better description, and often are called collectors cabinets since the 1800's !~
I'm thinking that the cabinet is for coins but could possibly be a map cabinet.
Love those British scales especially as Great Kimble is just a few miles from me down the road. There were a few scale makers in the area, some eventually moved into larger towns or industrial areas away from their small village locations.
Great history of the dental cabinet with actual photos of the dentist and the cabinet in his office…it doesn’t get any better than that!
